Hello, my name is Donna Moser, and I am very excited to be teaching the terrific third grade students at St. Francis Academy this school year! This is my 21st year of full-time teaching in the Diocese of Allentown where I have taught students in the first, second and third grades. My favorite grade and age of student to teach is third grade because of their curiosity and interest in learning.
I received my B.A. degree in English and Journalism from Moravian College, my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Lehigh University and my Master Catechist certification from the Diocese of Allentown. I also am certified in CPR/AED and First Aid from the American Red Cross.
Professional development is very important to me. I am a current member of several professional organizations, including the local and state chapters of the Keystone State Literacy Association and the International Literacy Association. I have received various awards for my literacy work, including a 2016 Spotlight on Members Award for the Keystone State Reading Association, 2015 Judith's Reading Room June Volunteer of the Month and a 2013 Colonial Association of Reading Educators Celebrate Literacy Award.
My faith is a central part of my life, and I am active in my home parish as a Women's Group member and a Notre Dame Dollars seller. I also participate in the Parish's Adult Retreat Reunion events.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my niece Paige. I also like travelling, reading books, writing letters, listening to music, attending plays and swimming. One of my favorite things I like to collect is seashells, and I have an extensive collection of them throughout my home. One of my favorite places to vacation during the summer is Carolina Beach, NC.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year watching the children learn, discover new things and grow in their faith and relationships with the Lord and each other. I am happy to be a part of the St. Francis Academy School community! :)
